Spencer Sims approved as Ag Extension Agent
During Tuesday's meeting, Henderson County Commissioners Court approved Spencer Sims as the next Texas A&M AgriLife Agricultural Extension Agent.
Mr. Sims replaces Spencer Perkins, who had been in the position since 2017.
Mr. Sims was born and raised in Athens and graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1999. He has a degree in Agricultural Science from Stephen F. Austin University. For the past 14 years, he has been an appraiser for the Henderson County Appraisal District.
"I'm excited about being the new Henderson County Extension Ag and Natural Resources agent," he said. "This is a job that I have dreamed about for a long time. I’m excited and look forward to working with the citizens of Henderson County to help improve agriculture, natural resources, youth, and health across the county."
